Welcome to my little slice of the internet.
I started out as a Bookstagrammer, however, I wanted a space where I had the freedom to post more unique content. And thus Rachey Reads was born.
Born in South Australia, it's been a different experience being bookish when so much of our culture revolves around sports and being outside. Not to mention the isolation from all the beautiful special edition bookstore hardbacks I never get to buy...
My blog will likely focus mostly on books written in the Fantasy and Romance genre's as they are my favourite. I have always had an affinity for Fantasy, having had the joy of growing up playing story driven games like the Final Fantasy series and losing my life to World of Warcraft. J.R.R Tolkien is my favourite author, and The Lord of the Rings holds such a warm and comforting place in my heart. I very rarely will delve into literary fiction or other genre's unless it's a Horror/Thriller.
I boast a minimal collection - I'm definitely not like those who have walls covered in shelves to display their treasures, preferring to read most of my books from my local Library or at least on an e-reader/tablet. Maybe one day I will have the library of my dreams, however that will not be any time soon!
My day job funds my bookish lifestyle. However, I do also run a small shop which boasts silly little designs from my mind while I'm reading books. They're nothing elaborate as I definitely do not claim to be an artist by any means, however, they're fun to me and maybe others would like them too.
